Rumford Little League Coronavirus Update

Hi Rumford Little League Families!

We wanted to provide you with some updates and some useful information during this stressful time.

We are a community and want what is best for everyone! We know that, joining together, we can get through this and have a great season.

As of now, per the recommendation of Little League baseball, we are suspending league activities until May 11th. This will be re-evaluated weekly up until that date. We will keep you in the loop with any new information!

We also wanted to give you a few ways to stay healthy and some fun ways to get the kids (who are home from school!) excited for the season!

Healthy Tips:
BASE-ics: Wash hands with soap and warm water often for 20 seconds (for kids, have them sing the ABCs or birthday song!)--hand sanitizer should only be used when soap and water are not available.
Home Plate: Stay home as often as you can. It will help you avoid exposure the and the spreading of the illness. If you need fresh air, go outside or take a walk around the block!
Full Count: if you feel sick or someone in your family does, have them go into a separate room and call your doctor. Only doctors can give you the correct diagnosis.

Home Tips:
Get out(field!): going outside is good for the health, both mental and physical! Run laps, do jumping jacks, run sprints, high knees or anything that gets the heart pumping! This will help the kids get some energy out and get ready to run home!
Memory Lane: we have a lot of photos and videos on our Facebook page. Have the kids sit down and look through the last seasons! They'll see how much fun we've had and get excited for the 2020 game schedule and practices!
Batter up: Practice! Grab your bat and swing! Even if you don't have a large yard to hit the ball, practicing swinging is a great way to see form and how to improve! You can also purchase batting nets on Amazon that stop the ball.

If you have any questions, please reach out! We are thinking of everyone and know this will pass. Stay healthy, check on your loved ones and neighbors, use good hygiene and know brighter days are ahead!
